Infrastructure/Facilities

The British School, New Delhi occupies an attractive six-acre site on the outskirts of the Diplomatic Enclave. Gardens and playing fields surround the main building. There are two buildings for primary and secondary education. This has allowed for more room for facilities and an increased capacity of more than 600 students .Our nursery with a capacity of forty seats was also opened for 3 to 4 year olds this year in August.

A new campus development is planned.

Facilities include air-conditioned classrooms, well-equipped specialist rooms for art, drama, music and ICT. A spacious science block houses four well-equipped laboratories. A multi-purpose auditorium offers space for gymnastics, basketball and school productions and events.Huge grounds accommodate our soccer fields, badminton courts and athletic tracks.

Grades

Students in Year 10 and 11 have a wide range of IGCSE / GCSE options to choose from, and Years 12 and 13 prepare for the International Baccalaureate Programme .Nearly all students graduate to University on completing Year

History

The British School was established in 1963 to provide a British education to British children in India though its doors have always been open to children from other nations. The school is self-financing and is owned by the British School Society, the membership of which is all the parents of students in school. A Board of Governors, a majority of whose members are elected parents, directs the affairs of the school. Today the school enrols many nationalities, though the biggest national groups are British and Indian.
